Three projects shortlisted for the AJ Retrofit & Reuse Awards 2026

Celebrating the value of reuse

21 July 2026

We’re proud to share that three Simple Works projects have been shortlisted for the Architects’ Journal Retrofit & Reuse Awards 2026. Tate Institute, Halcyon London International School’s Wellbeing Garden, and Eagle House have all been recognised for their sensitive approaches to adapting existing buildings and spaces for new uses.

Across these projects, our work has focused on retaining existing structures, reducing embodied carbon and creating places that support communities, learning and long-term use. From a historic community building in Silvertown, to a biodiverse rooftop learning environment and a revitalised 1860s townhouse in Hastings, each project demonstrates the value of careful retrofit and reuse.
