The CIRCuIT project explores how timber reclaimed from demolition sites can be reused structurally in glue-laminated elements. Timber from a South London site was supplied by Keltbray and assessed for damage and structural properties using longitudinal acoustic resonance testing. Once characterised, the timber was sent to Buckland Timber, the UK’s sole glulam manufacturer, who carried out further assessments and produced six glulam beams. Mechanical testing was carried out at Napier University to evaluate their performance.
