A new residential building at Daleham Gardens, Camden. The project will replace a four-storey block of flats, destroyed by fire in 2017 and demolished in 2020, with a six-storey development comprising fourteen flats and a duplex. The sloping site requires careful integration of basement retaining walls and landscape design.
Our work has included a full assessment of the site, which lies between Hampstead Heath and Regent’s Park and adjacent to a Network Rail tunnel. Surveys have informed our structural strategy, addressing made ground, contamination risk, drainage, utilities and flood risk. Following detailed options, a hybrid concrete and steel frame has been developed as the preferred superstructure.
The scheme considers regenerative opportunities including biodiversity improvements, circular design, low carbon materials and strategies towards zero operational carbon.
